GOLF CINNAMON HILL

$185 Per person

If you are a golfer vacationing in Jamaica, how about tee-time at a place that gives you a sense of coastal links and tropical inland golf? Experience the best of both worlds at the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course, a former sugar plantation that has plenty of history, mystery, and natural majesty. This 18-hole, par 72 course in Montego Bay includes historic aqueducts, sugar mill ruins, as well as stories of witchcraft and intrigue dating back to the 18th century.

Be below par at an above average course!

Enjoy all 18 holes of the extraordinary Cinnamon Hill Golf Course, built in 1969 by designers Robert von Hagge and Rick Baril. With a course rating of 74 and a slope rating of 136, Cinnamon Hill gives you 6,828 yards to golf in a seaside setting you will not find anywhere else in the world. The waterfall seen on the 15th hole, for example, is so beautiful that it appeared in the James Bond movie “Live and Let Die.” You can also feel the cool ocean spray as you putt on seaside greens on Cinnamon Hill’s 17th hole, 350 feet above the turquoise Caribbean Sea.

A round of golf with the White Witch?

This impressive golf course goes around several Montego Bay houses, most notably the second hole facing the Rose Hall Great House, once the home of the “White Witch of Rose Hall,” Annie Palmer. The Great House was built in 1770 by John Palmer, whose grandnephew moved in and married Annie, a beautiful English girl who allegedly had black magic powers that would eventually lead to his death. Additionally, the 14th hole gives you a view of country music legend Johnny Cash’s home. In fact, Cash was so inspired by this place, he wrote and recorded “The Ballad Of Annie Palmer” in 1973. With so much history around you, what are you waiting for to be inspired by the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course?

LUMINOUS LAGOON

$40 Per person

Forget the glow sticks and let Mother Nature take care of the nighttime light show. You can view this phenomenon in Jamaica’s Luminous Lagoon, a place where the waters glow in bright tones of the phosphorescent blue when you swim or the boats sail through its waters. Take a boat ride and swim in this lagoon for a gleaming good time!

You can’t ‘glow wrong’ with this excursion

After meeting your guide at your resort, you’ll be transferred to the port where a small boat has been waiting for you. Before you sail along Luminous Lagoon, you’ll be at a bar where you receive a complimentary rum punch as a welcome drink. Then, you’ll board your boat to set sail and your knowledgeable guide will tell you everything you need to know about how the lagoon glows in beautiful blue and green hues thanks to tiny microorganisms called dinoflagellates. They emit a phosphorescent light when disturbed by fish or people swimming near them. It’s a spectacular sight because you can see their outlines become visible in the water. The lagoon also becomes hauntingly beautiful when it rains, as the drops of water dance on the colorful surface.
